Thai Jicama is a popular Asian variety of jicama known for producing larger tubers compared to common Mexican types. This variety develops round to slightly oval roots with light-colored flesh, crisp texture, and naturally sweet flavor. Mature tubers can reach 4–6 inches in width under proper growing conditions.
Jicama plants grow as climbing vines and form roots after flowering. Only the root is edible. Leaves and seed pods are not edible and should not be consumed.
These seeds are suitable for home gardens, tropical and subtropical climates, and warm growing seasons. Jicama grows best in loose, well-drained soil with consistent moisture and warm temperatures.
Growing Notes:
• Germination time: approx. 2 weeks
• Optimal soil temperature: 80°F (27°C) or warmer
